Did a Democrat Senator spy for the KGB?

AJ points to an interesting bit of research from the files of the KGB. Someone with close connections to a number of very high-ranking Democrats was a KGB spy. The evidence, according to one person, points to a US Senator.

Based on what we know of the activities of so many anti-war types during the sixties and how so many of them became significant players in the Democratic party, this should not be that big a surprise.

Interesting. Of course, the more recent arrests of spies have mostly had close ties with the GOP. Larry Franklin and Steve Rosen, for example. And then there's the amazing tale of Katrina Leung:

>In March, 2003, the FBI arrested a Chinese-American businesswoman and Republican fundraiser, alleging that she had passed a frighteningly broad range of American intelligence secrets to the People's Republic of China (PRC). For two decades, Katrina Leung had been a paid bureau informant, supplying information on Chinese intelligence operations in America. She'd also been sleeping with two senior FBI agents--one of whom was her so-called "handler"--for the better part of those two decades. It was alleged that she had transmitted what she learned about American counterintelligence from her lovers to Beijing and sent Beijing's disinformation back through the FBI. The story was sordid, embarrassing, and, worse than that, quite grave: Intelligence sources told The Washington Post that Leung had single-handedly compromised 20 years of American counter-intelligence work against the PRC.

Sounds like Katrina Leung did the same kind of work that John Huang did. Of course, Katrina's ties to our enemies was unknown to the GOP. And John's ties with the enemy were well-known to Bill Clinton. After all, Bill hosted in the Oval Office the communist Chines colonel who ran Huang and Charlie Trie. And Bill did so knowing he was a spy.

Same old story -- elected Democratic leaders work closely with our enemies. A woman who raised money for a Republican candidate is arrested for spying

Deluded liberal thinks these are somehow equivalent.

So let's arrest Ted Kennedy and Jimmah Carter for their treason, too.
