There are none so blind ...
Brent Bozell has this nugget revealing how Dana Milbank is hampered by another of the inaccurate assumptions which are so prevalent in the MSM:
It has always been an article of faith by MSM journalists that Rush Limbaugh's listeners (and talk radio listeners in general) are stupid, uneducated yahoos. This despite the fact that reams and reams of market research and independent academic research showed that his listeners were more successful, better educated and more knowledgeable on current issues than the average American.
This is the same kind of self-imposed ignorance that was on display by the MSM journalists who wrote that bloggers are "bible-thumping knuckle-draggers" and the like. It seems that these people who claim that they speak truth to power and represent the people's right to know are interested in neither truth, nor knowledge.
When Ingraham brought Milbank on her radio show to defend himself, he explained that he would guess that her media-hating listeners went only to her show for their "news." Wrong. In 1996, liberal professor Kathleen Hall Jamieson was ignored by the liberal media when she found:
Political talk radio listeners are more likely than non-listeners to consume all news media other than TV news, to be more knowledgeable, and to be involved in political activities. This is true regardless of the ideology of the hosts of the programs to which they listen.
